Verify with Local Building Dept:
Try-Tech is here to help however please do verify with your local Building Department or governing agency of your required live load (snow load), wind factor and acceptance of Product Engineering before purchase of product or beginning any work on your house. It is solely the homeowners responsibility to obtain all correct information and any necessary permits prior to purchase.
Ask your local Building Department the following:
- Does your dept./agency accept the product engineering?
- What is the required live load (snow load) and wind speed requirements for an polycarbonate / aluminum patio cover for my area?
Make sure the Building Inspector is aware that you are not attempting to obtain a permit at this time; you have not purchased anything yet and want to make sure that the engineering report is accepted and you have the correct requirements before you have purchased the awning.
