The Door Canopies have been designed with durability in mind however there is no engineering available that would enable you to acquire a building permit. Maximum snow load and wind load recommendations are not available; we do have customers that use the Door Canopies in snow and high wind regions with no complaints.

Please note however that accumulated snow does have the possibilty of causing the return arms to fail and is the customers responsibility to monitor and remove accumulated snow as necessary.

The Door Canopies use most of the same materials as the Standard Aluminum Patio Covers which are engineered. Standard Aluminum Patio Covers use 3" x 3" Posts instead of Return Arms as the Door Canopies do; the Return Arms have not been tested and this makes the Door Canopies fall out of the scope of the Engineering used for the Standard Aluminum Patio Covers.
