Creative Custom Design – Wall-to-Wall Pergola with Reversed Layout

This custom layout showcases what’s possible when you think outside the box. Instead of the rafters projecting out from the wall, the beams project outward, each supported by its own post. This reverses the orientation of the lattice tubes, which now run perpendicular to the house.

Header beams are mounted directly to the house wall and extend 18 feet outward, supporting the structure without the need for a full front beam or continuous row of posts.

Rafters span the 21-foot width, running parallel to the house and connecting to the opposite wall, maintaining a sleek and structured appearance.

2" x 3" lattice tubes project over the full 18' span, spaced 5" on center to provide the ideal mix of shade and airflow.

Only two support posts are needed—one under each beam—keeping the footprint open and the overall design visually light.
